Jenny Chancellor Physiotherapist
It was Jenny’s love of physical activity that first drove her towards becoming a physiotherapist. Since qualifying in 2009 she has gained experience across the NHS, private and occupational health sectors. Working closely with GP’s, consultants, psychologists and fitness professionals has helped develop her hands-on treatment, her skills as an educator to help people better understand their conditions and her exercise prescribing.
While working as the lead physiotherapist at London Fire Brigade she gained extensive experience in treating a range of musculoskeletal conditions such as shoulder impingements, back pain and post-surgical recovery and developed a special interest in chronic pain. During her time here, she was involved in the creation, implementation and running of an award-winning Functional Rehabilitation Programme, helping firefighters return to active duty following injury.
She also presented at the Health and Wellbeing at work conference in 2016.
Jenny regularly uses a manual therapy, acupuncture and exercise to help people get back to doing the things they love. She is a qualified APPI mat Pilates instructor and has completed further training in ante and post-natal Pilates. She is also due to complete her training healthyHIT instructor training in November 2017, which combines high intensity exercise with Pilates. She loves teaching both small classes and 1:1 sessions with a focus on technique and quality of movement.
Jenny’s passion for exercise and the outdoors has led her to complete the Three Peaks Challenge, a London to Paris cycle ride and a half-Ironman for her favourite charity. She is always looking for a new challenge and at the start of 2017 she followed her dream of moving to St Agnes to combine work with living close to the sea and surf.
